Landing Page Not Converting? Find the Friction First

Check the offer, mobile page and form before paying for a redesign. Turn a conversion review into a small, testable plan.

People reach your landing page but few enquire or buy. The cause might be the offer, the visitors arriving, a confusing next step or a form that fails on a phone. A conversion review should find likely barriers and rank useful changes. It should not promise a sales increase from a new button color.

Things to check first

  1. Open the page on a phone and complete the intended action. Check that a successful form or purchase really reaches the business.
  2. Compare the page with the ad, email or search result that sends visitors there. The offer and next step should match what they expected.
  3. Check the traffic dates, source and conversion tracking before judging a percentage. A tiny sample can be misleading.

Make the next step easy to understand

A visitor should quickly see who the offer helps, what they get and what to do next. Check whether the main heading, price or key conditions answer those questions. Use evidence the business can support instead of vague claims or invented testimonials.

Review the form as part of the page. Unclear labels, surprise requirements and error messages can stop a real buyer. Ask which fields the business needs now and which can wait until later.

Use recordings as clues, not proof

Session recordings and heatmaps can show where visitors click or struggle. They do not tell you what every person was thinking. Use them alongside form errors, traffic sources and real customer questions. Keep private fields masked and follow the site’s privacy choices.

Choose a few changes with a clear reason for each. Agree how you will judge them. A controlled test needs suitable traffic and a sound measurement plan; a before-and-after comparison can also be affected by season, ad changes or different visitors.

What to ask the freelancer to do

  • Review the page and final conversion step
  • Rank likely barriers with examples
  • Give a practical plan for changes and measurement

Questions to ask before hiring

  • Will you inspect the full form and thank-you step?
  • Does the price include changes or just advice?
  • How will you separate a tracking problem from a page problem?

Red flags

  • Guarantees a fixed percentage increase
  • Recommends a redesign without testing the form
  • Uses recordings to claim certainty about every visitor’s intent

Agree what the job includes

  1. Review one agreed landing page, its traffic sources and the route to the final action.
  2. Rank the main barriers with screenshots or examples and recommend specific changes.
  3. Separate advice from design, coding and experiment setup so the next job is clear.

What to send the freelancer

  • Share the page URL, target customer, offer and the action that counts as a conversion.
  • Provide read-only reports and safe test access where needed, with private customer data removed.
  • Agree whether the deliverable is an audit, a revised page or a live test.

How to check the work is done

  • Each recommendation explains the observed problem, proposed change and reason it may help.
  • The plan checks mobile use, form success and the match between the traffic source and page.
  • You receive priorities, limits of the evidence and a practical way to check the chosen changes.

What may cost extra

  • An audit does not include design, coding or an A/B test unless the quote says so.
  • A specific conversion lift cannot be guaranteed; traffic quality and the offer also matter.

Common questions

Will a landing page audit include the redesign?

Not automatically. Many listings deliver a video review or action list. Ask for design, implementation and testing to be priced separately.

Do I need an A/B test for every change?

No. A broken form needs fixing. For uncertain design choices, choose a measurement method that fits the available traffic and the size of the decision.

Landing page conversion review

This is an audit and advice service with a video review and action list. Heatmap analysis is a higher-package option.

Listing checked October 24, 2026: 40 reviews, 5.0/5 displayed. Recent reviews praised the review and action plan; they do not prove a conversion lift.

Before you hire: Confirm your landing page fits the listing. Design changes, coding and A/B test setup need a separate quote.
